PRESENTATION
Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance and Data Management
Presentation Abstract:
The Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 was passed to address corporate accounting scandals and to shore
up investor confidence in financial reporting. American corporations are rushing to comply.
Some will do only the minimum that is required, others will see it as an opportunity to establish
business practices that will serve them well in the future.
Consulting firms provide Compliance Frameworks that provide checklists for implementation.
They address things like process controls, roles and responsibilities, and periodic audits.
Most of them, however, do not explicitly address Data Management as something that can be measured.
This presentation will discuss some of those implied factors that compliance teams may want to consider.
