The 12 Dimensions of Data Quality

Free tele-gathering, Tuesday July 22, 2008, 11:00 AM Eastern Time. 1 Hour.
Open to members and non-members

Many Data Governance programs and projects focus on improving data quality. How do you measure those improvements? One approach is to use data quality dimensions. Here's your chance to learn about them from noted DQ expert Danette McGilvray.

Data quality dimensions are aspects or features of quality. They provide a way to measure and manage the quality of data and information. Each data quality dimension requires different techniques, tools, and processes to measure it. This results in varying levels of time, money, and human resources to complete the assessment process or manage the quality of that dimension. You can better scope your projects or individual work by understanding the effort required to assess or manage each of the dimensions and choose the one that fits your needs.

Join us to learn about the dimensions and how they can support your data governance efforts.

Danette McGilvray, Principle of Granite Falls Consulting, has been using this approach during her many years of experience working with both Data Quality and Data Governance. On this call, Danette will describe twelve data quality dimensions and will provide guidance for how and when to use them.

By the way, Danette is the author of the upcoming Morgan Kaufmann book: Executing Data Quality Projects: Ten Steps to Quality Data and Trusted Information™.
