Data Interoperability Strategy

One Day Workshop

Michael M. Gorman has almost 45 years experience in data processing, most of which has been focused on database, DBMS, and database projects.

The Data Interoperability Strategy all-day seminar introduces the key topics and scenarios involved in creating interoperable data environments.  The key topics of the seminar include the characteristics of data interoperability and the two classes of data interoperability errors that commonly occur. Identified as well are the problems that commonly occur such as complexity and latency.

About The Workshop

The Data Interoperability Strategy all-day seminar introduces the key topics and scenarios involved in creating interoperable data environments.  The key topics of the seminar include the characteristics of data interoperability and the two classes of data interoperability errors that commonly occur. Identified as well are the problems that commonly occur such as complexity and latency. Each of these are defined and illustrated. At the end of the day, attendees are shown how to download and install the Metabase repository system for use after the seminar.

Also presented in this seminar are the levels of data interoperability than can be achieved. These levels closely parallel those of a capability maturity model, and these levels can be assessed within an organization in generally the same manner as can software or data maturity.

The all-day seminar can be followed up with a week-long Data Interoperability Workshop. Workshop attendees apply formal processes that discover shareable data across a collection of legacy schemas, store these in the Metabase repository system that is provided free to attendees, and, at the end, attendees use these shared data specifications via a business information system generator to build a shared-data information system.
